What is DreamDoze and Why Did We Create It?
Thanks for caring enough to check our about page. Seriously.
Most people don’t care much about this kind of stuff usually, so we appreciate you for caring enough.
DreamDoze was created by two childhood friends.
We are both obsessed about dreaming.
It continue to amaze us how each and every one of us dreams about 4-6 times per night, and how vivid our dreams can be. We’ve just read somewhere that even blind people dream.
Everyone dreams – including animals. Do you know it’s been proven that even fetuses dream?! And what’s more interesting, is how we all dream differently.
When we dream we experience an all-acompassing orchestra of our senses. We sense the sense of touching (tactioception) when we dream. We smell stuff when we dream. We not only see everything in increadible dreamy color (no wonder we use “dreamy” as a word for something so wonderful we cannot explain!), we really hear in dreams. That’s what our brains experience. We hear music and sounds, people talking and everything that surrounds us.
We feel heat or cold in dreams, we can can feel pain, and we can taste stuff. Hey, remember the song by the Everly Brothers, “All I Have to Do is Dream”?
Seriously, how cool is dreaming, huh?
In the the New and Old testaments, dreams are so often profetic. They connect us to a higher being, they allow us to communicate in the most fantastic way with the divinity, and learn, receive warnings and see understand our existance.
Yet we forget 90% of our dreams immediately as we wake up.
Most of the time we never even remember that we have dreamt.
Sleeping is great, but dreaming is outworldly. It’s a way to tune into the deepest parts of our psyche.
Hey – did you notice? So often we use the word “Dream” to describe something we wish or long for, that we forget about our own weird, strange and colorful dreams.
But dreams are symbolic too. They must be, otherwise we wouldn’t be obsessed about their meaning. Dreams come from our deepest psyche, and possibly from an outer place too. Perhaps humanity’s subconcious collective mind. Perhaps the subconscious collective mind of everything that is alive and living.
We can’t help but wonder, what do they mean?
For a long time we both had quite an obsession about the mystery of dreams and what they may mean, and one day after long discussions we decided to share our obsession with the world.
And that’s why we created DreamDoze: to build an enriching collaborative community of people who are passionate about dreaming as we are, to share and understand each other’s dreams.
We also want to make it the world’s most efficient dream psychoanalysis machine. We want to bring dreamers and interpreters together, to fuel what we call “Social Dream Interpretation” – an endless stream of dream reports and their interpretations, hopefully to one day help the world better understand of the depths of the human psyche: our subconscious mind.
We want to make dream interpretations for all, for free.
This is why we made it as social journal of the collective-subconscious – an ever-expanding documentation of the subconscious human mind in the 21st century.
We literally collect dreams. Right now we are in the process of building a free and fully accessible library of humanity’s innermost experience – our dreams.
We want to dive deep. Our goal is to document humanity’s deepest collective experiences, its wishes, desires, ideas and memories.
Our dreams have always been an uncharted territory – it’s time we explore it together.
We want to make DreamDoze into a place where everyone can share the truly magical journeys we all go through in our sleep.
It’s time we begin to share and understand this mysterious realm.
So what is DreamDoze?
DreamDoze allows people to share and document their dreams, and have them interpreted by several people, for free.
Some of us are professional interpreters, some are just enthusiasts. Either you are in for a pleasant surprise.
We hope that DreamDoze may, even in the smallest of ways, contribute to the understanding of the subconscious human psyche.
Our collective experiences in the land of dreams are one of life’s biggest mysteries, but hopefully not for much longer.
We hope you like it here, and that you will leave our site feeling enriched.
Please feel free to throw us a line any time. We’d love to hear from you, and we’d love to learn how to make our site better.
Say hi :)
