Boyfriend proposing on beach with a flower

Okay, so me and my boyfriend have been together for 2 years and 7 months. I love him very much, and he loves me, but he also did tell me about 3 weeks ago he didn’t know what he wanted out of a relationship (then went to say relationships in general, but I know he meant ours). He does love me, it’s just we’re in our senior year and you know, he’s just being realistic I guess. Anyways, I had a dream last night that we were at the beach (which is weird b/c he hates the beach), and he seemed to be having a pretty good time too. I was around family or friends, I can’t remember which, but all I remember is him getting on one knee in front of me and I gasped. He held out a small pretty yellow flower (like one of those weeds, but it was pretty nonetheless), and was smiling all goofily and sweetly (which he doesn’t smile unless he really means it), then he proposed. I was really flattered, but confused, as I didn’t know if he actually was being serious or not. He didn’t sound like he was joking, but I was just, Idk, confused and shocked, but I said “uh..yes? ?” in an unsure manner, as in my answer was honestly yes, but I didn’t know if he was being serious or not. So anyways, yeah everything just went back to normal, and later on in the dream I was super love sick, just like I was whenever we first got together, it was a nice feeling, being engaged and all. Anyway, I have NO clue what this could mean, and why it was a flower that he proposed with instead of a ring, and all these other questions (the little pretty yellow flower weed thing is significant actually b/c i’d always pick them at school and give them to him and put them in our hair).
