Takako’s Great Adventure

Takako landed at Vancouver International Airport. This was her first trip overseas and she was a little bit nervous. Would Christine be there to meet her? Would her English abilities be enough to get by?
Christine, her pen-pal was the one who sent her the application for a scholarship. She agreed to leave her family in Japan and go to Canada.
She was very tired when she arrived in Canada. She grabbed her luggage and began searching for Christine. The problem was she had never seen her before; she only had one photo to go by. As she was trying to spot Christine in the crowd, a large man approached her saying that he was Uncle Jim whom Christine asked to collect Takako and bring her over to her place.
He took Takako’s bags and led her to his car. Takako held her violin close to her as it was very expensive. Jim soon had his American car roaring down the highway at 100 km per hour.
Takako looked out the window and saw a sign saying US Border 13 kilometers. She realized he was heading in the wrong direction. She was scared; she did not know what was happening. Whatever it was she knew she was in serious trouble.
